My first Livemeeting in English…like my first computer.

1982, my dear father stopped smoking and made a dramatic savings throughout the year. I did understand why we could not eat pizza every weekend, or travel more often, as we did in previous years.

I spent the year angry with my dad, but come Christmas. I thought that would not get something really cool, but came my first microcomputer, a CP200.

At the time I did not stop to think so much, just wanted to play with my precious. The feeling was fantastic, I remember  this day.

2012 , more precisely July 18. After years of work, I finally got to do my first LiveMeeting for the #sqlfamily around the world, or I got my CP200 again. The feeling from a 12  boy is the same from a 42 . I know how  much the #sqlfamily is kindly and I always wanted to be part of it. I still don’t know if I am accepted as one,but I am feeling as one and I know that I have GREAT friends around the world in that Family.

For me it is all about sharing, learning ,friendship and FAMILY, with the AWESOME guys that “spend “ their  time just to help people.  I DO love to do it, not as these Jedi of course  , but with the bit that I have knowledge  . I do love to know that maybe I can be part of this family, after all, what would we do without a family ?

My first personal contact with the #sqlfamily was in SQLBITS, the AWESOME Board team gave me the opportunity to speak last year. I am eternally grateful for what they did for me and by the friends I did.My feeling was like my first PowerShell script. You know how many addicted I am, so you can imagine  the feeling when my first script worked.

I just like to thanks all the #sqlfamily , SQLBITS and to PASS. This FANTASTIC organization that are join the communities around the world,  seeding ideas on us (as Karla did with us in the SQLSaturday100), that WE CAN DO IT, WE CAN DO the difference,  and WE CAN BE PART of something BIG and that really matters.

I know that my English is not that good, but I am proud of me just to have tried ( when I saw the BIG Jedi names that was in the room, really, my legs started to shake ), but even with “I don’t know how to say in English” I did the presentation. Just because the #sqlfamily was in there. I could not disappoint MY FAMILY.

I had the honor to be invited on 19 (one day after) by the Africa Middle East Regional Mentor and now a friend, Jody Roberts to speak to the @sqlcape UG, 27 July to the SQL Server RS UG by my friend Marcus Bittencourt and 1 August to New Zealand Auckland UG by  the friend Dave  Dustin.  It is Priceless, not only because I am sharing and learning, but I am doing new friends Sorriso

I was sad, but after the  presentation to PASS and SQLCAPE, I realized that was VERY good I was not be accepted to PASS SUMMIT yet. I still need to learn a LOT and in each presentation I will do my best to honor the name of MY FAMILY, the #sqlfamily.

I know as the feeling like my first computer , I am working hard and for sure one day I will have the same feeling like my first car Sorriso (speak at PASS Summit)

I was kind of nervous that I forgot to say in the end, but it was an honor for me guys. I still cannot believe that I saw so many BIG names in my presentation. There wasn’t many people, but the guys that I consider MY FAMILY was in there. For me It is ok. It was only a bit strange for me, a Padawan speaking to the Jedi, but I hope that you guys was enjoyed.

Thanks for the opportunity to this presentation , PASS and #sqlfamily.

You guys, PASS – #sqlfamily – SQLBITS – SQLSATURDAYS – #PowerShellFamily,  are the best thing that happened in my life in the last years Sorriso

I just love all this stuff !!!!!

PS – I am a very luck guy, I can say that I have GREAT Friends on the #PowerShellFamily too. My thanks to them ? It is in my home page from the beginning of this blog Sorriso
